From what I have read, I think this was the last year the black Featherweight was made. This is a fantastic looking machine with the red "S" badge. There is no wear whatsoever to the decals and the paint is as shiny as new without any scratches or dings.
The foot pedal and wires look original with the Singer plug and they are all in excellent working condition with no cracking. The original 221K manual is present. There are five of the original attachments included along with the bobbin case and five bobbins.
The case is the proper one for this year with the clip in the lid for the foot pedal. There is the small side tray which is red on this one (same as some for the 222). The handle and latches on it are in very good condition.
This machine has been thoroughly cleaned, serviced, needle replaced, stitch adjusted, and is ready to go to your next quilting class. It is also a very collectable machine.
